PASSION LED US HERE
We are here to help charity succeed

Your good cause may be a charity, social enterprise, trust or managing your own giving. Delivering it faces many
challenges. Whether you are a CEO, Fundraising Director, founder or philanthropist, in the private or public sector,
we are here to help you overcome those challenges and make your cause financially sustainable and successful.

Your Strategy, Communications
and Fundraising Partner

By Your Side Every Step of the Way

We are here for you. We help raise funds and work with donors to ensure their gifts are used to meet their objectives. We can give your brand personality and visibility in a crowded marketplace, and run campaigns to amplify this. We provide experts to give practical support and directly help you tackle new challenges.

Venture Associates are not typical consultants, who develop a plan and then leave the client to deliver it. We provide advisory support in an agile way – testing and learning as we go – and work with you to deliver bespoke, sustainable and efficient solutions.

What Makes Us Different

At Venture, we have decades of experience as leaders, strategic innovators and income generators in not-for-profits and the media. We want to share our insights, knowledge and networks to help you and your organisation make a positive difference.

We believe the best way to do this is to work together with you as a unit, bringing in other experts from our network as needed. That is why, when we work with you, we become part of your team. We do not just provide solutions. We work with you to successfully deliver them.

What We Do

Ventures

We work on a limited number of Ventures – full advisory and implementations partnerships – at any one time. Ventures are intensive long-term partnerships where we help you frame, reframe or reimagine your cause to make it relevant, fundable and sustainable.

We work with you to identify your objectives and then develop projects and campaign ideas to meet those objectives. This is a partnership: long-term reliable success is the result of testing and implementing new ideas and revisiting old ones with fresh eyes. Crucially we consider our work to be about generating ideas; we will never encourage you to put all your faith in one solution or concept.

This process takes time, and we commit to working alongside you when these ideas work but also when they don’t.

Our shared success will be delivered through ideas being developed and delivered over time to give your charitable venture a sustainable and scalable future.

Fee structure:

There are no upfront fees. Venture will charge you 20% on net income generated by our partnership. This pays for a Venture Advisory Team, who work alongside your Senior Leadership Team to achieve our shared objectives for the length of the partnership. Once plans have been agreed Venture will take responsibility, alongside your team, to put those plans into action.

In time, successful project management, marketing and fundraising requires delivery staff to put our ideas, expertise and networks to work. Venture will provide flexible consultant time at reasonable fixed rates to do that work.

Venture Advisory

Venture’s Senior Advisors all hold senior leadership roles within well-respected organisations and have personal track records of creating and delivering new ideas within organisations and through collaboration.

When we undertake ventures, we charge a mixture of fees and a percentage of funds raised. For shorter term advisory projects, you can engage our advisors to work on the following basis:

  • Tasked Advisory: short-term, typically less than 5 days over a month, charged at a fixed day rate.
  • Retained Advisory: medium to long-term engagements charged at a fixed hourly rate.

Venture Services

Venture will embed Associates, supported by designated advisors within your organization to deliver a defined project or function for a set period at a fixed rate. Venture Services clients will also benefit from being plugged into the Venture Associates Network.

Venture Services include:

  • Database Management: Creating or refining the fundraising spreadsheet and other search resources to make them efficient and effective tools.
  • Creating Materials: Generating the decks, letters, marketing materials and other documentation required for your campaign or fundraising push to succeed.
  • Project Management: Guiding and marshalling activity so as to ensure continued momentum and control for your project to fluorish.
